Wedded bliss

So now I know what that saying means. Just to know that you get to be with your best friend for life...what a feeling!

The wedding went off without a hitch. I would not have changed a thing. Lots of family and friends showed up, the food and company were incredible, and the love for the happy couple was overwhelming. I'm so glad we decided to have the wedding rather than eloping. All the bad moods, stress, and expense is well worth it. And I got the best party favor of all time - my lovely wife.

The official honeymoon is almost over, but my honeymoon with my soul mate will never end.

To my wife - I love you more than words can say, more than all the money or worldly goods in the universe. I only hope and pray that I can be your man for the rest of our lives. For us, the best is yet to come.

More later...

Waiting at the airport

So here I am waiting on a flight to get back to Houston from Dallas. So tired. Can't wait to get home. No idol post about Bucky or anything. Bummer.

So I am on the 7:30 flight and it's now 7:20 and no plane. The 5:30 flight just left and it was packed. I forgot that it was the day before a holiday weekend. See, we don't get Good Friday off. We have to work. Bummer.

So the people on the flight that just left had to wait two extra hours while 3 other flights took off at the gates beside them going to the same destination. Is that fair? Should they not have had first choice at seats for the next flight? They could have been home already. It just doesn't seem fair. Bummer.

But that would have meant I would get home later, but instead, the plane is now here and I hopefully will get home pretty close to on time...back to my loving fianc who I miss and love so much.

Not a bummer at all.

Breaking news

Ding Dong Bucky is out! Yeehaw! I just may wet myself.

Wooly Willy has a magnetic personality

Fast post today! Just American Idol news...

So it looks like someone has actually seen Fantasia now. I missed the first few minutes of the show...did they even say anything about her being there?

Image hosting by Photobucket

Obscurity, thy name is Fantasia. It must have been that "baby mama" song.

It looks like Chris has a new "beard-do." Finally figured him out too...

Image hosting by Photobucket

Yes, that's Wooly Willy...the classic game where you move the metal shavings around to put hair wherever you want on the bald guy. Where will the hair be next time?

And I don't even have words to describe this look.

Image hosting by Photobucket

It's Ashlee Simpson meets cousin it meets a bad 80s hair band lead singer. They shouldn't let Kellie decide these things on her own!!! Ugh.

And once again, Ace showed that he is the most important person in the world by asking Queen to change their song. You can see the reaction.

Image hosting by Photobucket

He asked them if they ever did any songs that were really slow with the word scar in them, or another body part he could expose so that he could appear in various states of undress for the ladies...and perhaps could he sing it 3 octaves higher? And maybe with a reggae beat? Please.

The bottom three choices Bucky (please let him leave), Ace (ugh), and I'll have to give it to Paris for the last spot.

That's it for today...more tomorrow...

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat

During the next couple of weeks, you can expect the blogging to get few and far between, due to the upcoming wedding! I'll be getting married to my wonderful, beautiful, sexy fianc on the 22nd! Here's to hoping all two of you who read this blog can handle the sensory deprivation. Lots of work going on with taking time off soon! I promise I will keep everything updated as much as possible! Here's what interests me today...

We think the rising costs of mobile phones here is ridiculous, check out the costs in Malaysia...

Couldn't help but mention this Remote Control-looking Wallet. How about being able to push a button and make your ATM card appear? Okay, so it's a bit of a waste...and it's got to hurt the old booty when ya sit down.

Looks like our favorite American Idol Bucky fought the law and the law won. The old switcheroo...a classic WT move.

Okay, on to 24...

So the gig is up for the president...the wrong people know the wrong information and now they're trying to cover it up. So who do they target?

Image hosting by Photobucket

Of course it's our buddy Jack. And with everything that worked against him in this episode - CTU/Homeland, the crazy brat...

Image hosting by Photobucket

So the kid learned how to dial 911...I wonder if she and her mom were the lastest casualties? That's a lesson to remember for all you kiddies. Don't call 911 unless you absolutely need it.

Luckily we still have Chloe on our team, who foiled the Homeland's plans of tracking Audrey and feeding information to the evil president.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Favorite line scene tonight:
Unnamed guy - "What did you do?"
Chloe - "Are you serious? If you really want to know I'll write a report."

Classic. Looks like she might run into some trouble next week though. From the previews it looks like she's been found out. But how many times has she been found out and gotten out of it? It's 'cause she always does the right thing...and she always does what Jack says. Same/same.

And to finish it up...we got to see the president and first lady in a liplock. Awww....

Image hosting by Photobucket

Boy is she going to beat the ever-loving crap out of him when she finds out what he's been up to.
I can't wait to see what happens next. Hopefully everyone will get what they deserve, but this is 24, so no telling what will happen...stay tuned!

That's it for today...more tomorrow...

A Golden Girl talks about sex

Happy weekend everyone! Here's what interests me today...

The hurricane names are out for this year, and there's also a recap of the names that were retired at this link. Hurricane Florence?

Image hosting by Photobucket

And we thought she looked so sweet.

Along the same lines as the giant iPod viewable from space, Maxim magazine has created a ginormous magazine cover in the desert near Las Vegas. Apple wins though. This is just a fraction of the size of the iPod.

Ever wonder how they come up with that darned three-digit credit score number when you apply for credit? Well if you knew, you don't know anymore. They're changing it.

Golden Girl prescribes sex to ward off aging. Some bizarre comments in this one folks. "Let's have sex because Rue McClanahan says it's good for us."

Image hosting by Photobucket

That's a great way for men around the world to get ready for action.

To add to my list of bizarre Web sites there's the new Altoids.com site. Cool Breath Power still takes the number one spot for me, but kudos to Altoids for the sheer production value of it all. Of course they still rot your teeth out.

So in Idol news, it seems that Paula Abdul has been acting crazy because she was attacked. Every time she acts crazy, there's always a crazy excuse she offers up. At some point, you gotta stop crying wolf and get into REHAB!

And finally, let's all take a deep breath and salute Houston as one of the dirtiest cities in the USA!!! YAYYYY!!!!! Thank goodness someone put it in print. We never would have known, just living here.

Happy weekend all! More on Monday...

Have a holly, jolly Christmas!

Last night's American Idol was full of surprises. You can't tell me you didn't think Ace, Bucky and Katharine were the bottom three!

But before we get to that, Madisa showed Ryan that she ain't playin' that whole "pull my finger" game.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Considering what happened later in the show, maybe she should have just gone along with it.

Kenny Rogers showed up again, and his long lost twin was finally revealed.

Image hosting by Photobucket

I can't say his new music really compares with "The Gambler" or "Lady" or "Islands in the Stream." At all. But it was okay.

So the bottom three was a surprise last night. As soon as I saw it I knew Mandisa was headed home.

Image hosting by Photobucket

It does seem that Elliott's warbling is beginning to get on people's nerves, and Paris' song choices are starting to affect her votes. She used to be so good, and now everything seems so safe and predictable. Like Simon's love life.

I can't say that I agree with the choice, because Ace's performance was much worse that Mandisa's, but nonetheless, Mandisa is sent packing.

Image hosting by Photobucket

She clearly didn't deserve it, but I guess when you put yourself out there as a Christian, you immediately alienate all non-Christians and they stop voting for you. C'est la vie! We're proud of you Mandisa, and know we'll be hearing you at churches and on Christian radio around the country!

That's it for today! More tomorrow...

Brokeback Elmo

So Brokeback Mountain is out on video, and Wal-Mart has done kids everywhere a favor by stocking it next to Sesame Street right on the end of the aisle. Some interesting cross promotions are coming up - Tickle me Ennis? I wish I knew how to quit you, Elmo. Don't forget to read the comments at the end of the link to the Consumerist post. Too funny!

If you need a diversion, try this game from Baskin Robbins called Office Invaders (based on Space Invaders) to get your blood pumping. It won't be as good without sound, so if you have speakers, turn 'em up! I love the comments from the marketing people especially!

And is this really necessary?

Last night's American Idol was not quite as bad as last week's...but close. Taylor was really bland. He stood out as being bland. While Kelly and Bucky (ugh) did very well in their element. It was good to see Kenny Rogers...or was it really him?

Image hosting by Photobucket

I have seen him before since the "change" but I still can't believe it's him. I miss the real Kenny.

Paula continued to stun last night, although her speech was a little better than last week.

Image hosting by Photobucket

I really hope she gets some help.

And Kellie "sets the record straight" about her being naive...do we believe her?

Image hosting by Photobucket

For some reason it looked to me like she was just trying a little too hard...her accent was coming in and out, and if you just look her in the eyes, you can see something there...I still think she's full of it. But since her friends at home agreed with her that they didn't know what calamari was either, then it must be the truth. Ahem.

Apparently, Elliott has someone he's talking to out there...as during the first part of his performance, he signaled someone Carol Burnett style.

Image hosting by Photobucket

"This is to all you toads out there"

And finally, there's apparently a new game on American Idol, and they're really getting into it. I think it's a bit crude.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Not to be outdone, Paula joins in on the action.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Fart humor is fun.

Okay, so here's the deal...as you can tell from how much I have mentioned the performances, I like country music about as much as Simon does. Although a few did a great job (Katharine, Kellie, Chris, Bucky (ugh) come to mind) others needed some help (Taylor, Mandisa, Ace). So my bottom three prediction for this week is as follows: Ace, Bucky, Mandisa. Adios Ace.

This is getting tough! More tomorrow...

Later Gators? No...NOW!

Congrats are in order for the Florida Gators who have won the NCAA Tournament championship! This year was the most boring final four...and the games leading up to it were so exciting this year. I'm sure ratings were way down as well. But that Shining Moment gets me every time. Anyhoo...congrats Florida and yada yada yada.

24 was good last night...almost a little breather from the wildness. I didn't like the whole "child in jeopardy" thing...that always bores me and is a very overused ploy. But as we know, Jack did survive last week's blast.

Image hosting by Photobucket

And just 5 minutes later there he was, none the worse for wear, all cheaned up and ready to go. Sheesh.

Poor Buchanan, though. It's so unfair in the faux government! He really is just a solid guy who does an excellent job, but is not real good with the politics. He is always getting used and abused!

Image hosting by Photobucket

Of course, after the "child in peril" saga and some pretty evil shots of Wade Palmer making sure that the guy he's killing knows it's him, they let Robocop get away again.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Slipperier than a snake in baby oil! Ugh.

Then, the big shocker (although I called it folks!!!) the president is in on all of it. And I now have a new quandry.

Image hosting by Photobucket

For some reason I can't hate Robocop - he's too cool, but the other three...hmm...probably not so much Karen...yeah, I'm going to have to go with the guy at top left. I don't even remember his name. It's just that he's clearly a really junior guy who thinks he's ruler of the world and can make people do whatever he pleases. I'm voting for him to be the next dead one!

Enough of this for today. It's country music night on American Idol! I hate country music.

State of the blog - April 06

So here I am, one month into this thing they call blogging. I thought it was time to take it back "old school" all the way back to the end of February and talk about how things have changed since I began blogging all those many many days ago. I know it's hard to remember all the way back, but at least try.

So the fianc is still the fianc, although this blog did give her a new nickname, and we're getting closer to the wedding date as we speak. Only 19 more days. I can't wait! It seems like it is coming up so fast but also like it is taking forever to get here. So much to do and so little time.

I've earned a total of $1.39 with my AdSense ads...I thought this money was just supposed to roll in? It would probably help if I would let people know about my blog...but I still don't think I'm quite ready for prime time, so I toil away in virtual anonymity.

I have had several visitors, and one link from technorati. It seems my post "Holy Exploding Condiments" got some attention. And someone actually clicked on the link! My first visitor that was not my fianc or that didn't get here by hitting "Next Blog."

It seems at times that I just end up writing about American Idol and 24, although outside of the wedding and preparations, it seems that is all I have time for these days. But you know, just how many more idol and 24 blogs does the world need?

Yes, after this month, I am still trying to find my niche...and it seems like the "Unnamed Blog" name will stick. I have registered www.unnamedblog.com and it's all mine. Just don't know what to do with it yet. I know I need an upgrade to the graphics, so that will be coming soon, but once I move to the real domain, I want to be able to have this thing downpat, so that I can hit the ground running and really get something going.

So I guess, what this has really shown me in the past month and some-odd days is that I can do the writing, I can have at least something to talk about, and I can do it while still holding down the full-time job (boo).

So the wedding and all the hoopla surrounding it will be over three weeks from now, and I can settle back down into real life and see what I can make of this thing. I think it's time now to try something a little different...I just don't know what yet. But I will figure it out. Because soon, we will rule the world.

That's it! More tomorrow....

Promises, promises

I know I promised a post yesterday to make up for the totally lame post on Friday, but it seems that I have come down with the stomach flu...please forgive! When the fever breaks and I can stay awake for more than 20 minutes at a time, I'll be back!

In the meantime, Trent at Pink is the New Blog has converted to Scientology. On April Fool's Day. Yeah right.

More tomorrow??????
